hellloooo! we’re back chasing fireflies. here are this month’s glimmers of the internet:
LISTEN
new hetero-pessimist (lol) podcast, in their first episode they’re dissecting one of the many various shapes of feminism currently going viral on tiktok, called Dark Femininity:
I made this pop princess-dense playlist this morning for the beach:
READ
Always fun to hear/read an American talk about “Euro Summer”. For my fellow European citizens, here some images to get into the Mediterranean vibe for our holidays close to home, and shop accordingly:
I loved taking this cute quiz a few times before dropping in some new EUROSUMMER books in my basket. so if you’re like me and need a little assistance choosing your summer books, this will help you for sure!
I recently subscribed to this cute substack about everything bathing, after shifting a little uncomfortable tension into accepting the fact I didn’t come up with this genius concept myself:
WATCH
All the dialogue in my films, I heard on the street and in café’s - I report on life. We live in a world that values the negative over the positive. I want to make propaganda about the things I love - Director Claude Lelouch’s film closet pick’s for Criterion:
If your mind feels heavy with rumination or you’re swimming in overwhelm, this Hitomi vlog felt like a quiet balm to me.
If you need a dopamine spike, a laugh or just enjoy seeing beautiful chemistry between 2 close friends:
If you’re an old movie lover like me, you’ll know Godard. I enjoyed this educational yt video about Breathless:
If you want a series to binge! The trailer doesn’t do it any justice. This series is surprising, well written, well paced and well acted. I binged this one in a week. The Better Sister, on Prime video.
I watched this one in the cinema with my friend when it just came out in 2023 and it had me sobbinggg + feeling many bodily sensations, not for the faint of heart but 10/10 would recommend on a moment when you’re feeling brave. I saw its on HBOmax now. About loneliness in an individualist society, and queer love in the big city. I’ve warned you, so please proceed with caution, and make sure you're relatively stable before inviting in the big emotions that will undoubtedly hit and change you while watching this gorgeous movie. All of us strangers, HBO max.
If you’ve seen most of Wes Andersons movies, don’t skip this:
that was it for now.
speak soon! xoxo
